G-Switch Online - Web Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
Overview
Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect in the web version of G-Switch Online, how we use it, and the steps we take to ensure your privacy is maintained.
G-Switch Online is a video game developed by Vasco Freitas, located in Portugal, and operating under the brand name Serius Games. By using G-Switch Online on the web, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Our data processing activities are subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.
Collected Information
We collect the following information when you use the web version of G-Switch Online:
- Account and game profile data: information associated with your G-Switch account and profile, such as your username, experience points (XP), ranking or rating, selected character, gameplay progress, statistics, preferences, and other information needed to provide and synchronize your profile across supported G-Switch games and devices. Some profile information, such as your username, selected character, rank, rating, country flag, or relevant gameplay information, may be publicly displayed to other players.
- Multiplayer and match data: information required to provide online matchmaking and gameplay, such as matchmaking region, player identifiers, opponents, match participation, match results, finishing positions, ratings, connection status, disconnections, and related gameplay information. This information may also be used to calculate player progression, improve matchmaking, maintain fair play, and diagnose technical issues.
- Analytics data (our own, aggregated, non-identifying): information about how the game is used, such as session counts, playtime, performance data (such as FPS ranges), matchmaking activity, connection failures, disconnections, match completion, and general usage patterns (e.g., platform, language, characters used, or races completed). Country may be inferred from IP at the time of request. This information is processed by us to better understand how users interact with the game and to improve its performance, stability, matchmaking, and features.
- Advertising & analytics via Poki: the web version integrates the Poki SDK, which provides game analytics and displays ads on poki.com. Poki may collect data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your settings/consent and may use cookies or similar technologies. See the Poki privacy/cookie information linked below.
- Sign-in data (optional): if you sign in with Discord, we collect and store your Discord username and ID, used for authentication and account management. This information is used only for the purposes for which it was provided (account creation, login, and syncing). It is not used by us for advertising or marketing. We do not receive or store your Discord password.
- Country data: if you are signed in, we may infer your country from your IP address and store it on our servers. If you choose to enable the "country flag" feature in the game, your country may be publicly displayed alongside your profile during multiplayer gameplay, matchmaking, ranking displays, or result screens. You can enable or disable this feature at any time in the game’s options.
- Technical and connection data: our servers and networking services may process technical information required to establish and maintain multiplayer sessions, including IP addresses, connection status, latency, matchmaking region, session identifiers, network-routing information, and connection diagnostic data.
- Server logs: our servers may temporarily store log files, which can include technical information such as IP addresses, requests, errors, connection events, and session information. These logs are used only for maintaining the service, preventing abuse, and diagnosing and resolving technical issues. They are automatically deleted after a limited period.
Online Multiplayer and Peer-to-Peer Connections
G-Switch Online may use WebRTC or similar networking technology to establish direct peer-to-peer connections between players.
When a direct connection is established, technical network information needed to create and maintain that connection may be exchanged between the participating devices. Depending on the player’s browser, operating system, network configuration, and the connection method used, this may include IP address or network-routing information.
This information is used only to establish and operate the multiplayer connection. It is not displayed as part of the player’s public game profile. Other players are not provided through the game with your real name, email address, Discord password, or other private account information.
Where a direct connection cannot be established, the game may use a relay service to transmit gameplay traffic between players.
Third-party Services
The web version of G-Switch Online uses the following third-party services:
The game also relies on hosting, database, and infrastructure providers that process information only as needed to operate the game and its related services.
Cookies
- Our cookie: used to keep you securely signed in to the game.
- Essential storage: may be used to retain game preferences, settings, and technical information needed for the game to function correctly.
- Poki/third-party cookies: may be used for ads, consent management, and analytics. See the Poki Cookie Statement for details and choices, including personalized vs non-personalized ads.
How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Create, authenticate, and maintain player accounts and profiles.
- Synchronize profile information and gameplay progress across supported games and devices.
- Provide online matchmaking and multiplayer gameplay.
- Display relevant public profile information to other players.
- Calculate XP, ranks, ratings, statistics, and match results.
- Detect connection problems, errors, cheating, abuse, or misuse of the service.
- Improve the game’s matchmaking, balancing, stability, performance, usability, and features.
- Respond to player requests and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data.
Public profile and multiplayer information may be displayed to other players as described in this Privacy Policy. Technical connection information may also be exchanged between participating devices when peer-to-peer multiplayer connections are used.
We may share information with trusted service providers, such as hosting, database, networking, authentication, analytics, advertising, and infrastructure providers, solely as necessary to operate the game. These providers are expected to apply appropriate security and confidentiality protections.
We may also disclose information if required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of players, Serius Games, or the service.
Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously and employ appropriate security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
We process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) based on the following legal grounds:
- Performance of a contract: when processing is necessary to provide the game, player account, profile synchronization, matchmaking, and multiplayer services requested by you.
- Legitimate interests: when processing is necessary to pursue our legitimate interests in providing a secure, reliable, fair, and functional game experience, preventing abuse, diagnosing technical problems, improving the service, and maintaining multiplayer gameplay, as long as these interests do not override your rights and freedoms.
- Consent: where applicable — for example, if you sign in with Discord, enable the optional "country flag" display, or choose personalized ads via Poki's consent flow.
- Legal obligations: when processing is necessary for us to comply with applicable laws or lawful requests.
We rely on legitimate interests to store country data for account functionality, matchmaking, and service integrity. Public display of your country flag occurs only when the feature is enabled.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent, but this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Your Data Protection Rights
If you reside in the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the GDPR, including the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability.
To exercise any of your data protection rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
If you believe we have not complied with applicable data protection laws, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Portugal, the relevant authority is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.
Retention
- Server and connection logs: retained only for a limited period necessary to maintain the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose and resolve technical issues, and then automatically deleted or anonymized.
- Game data and account information: retained while your account is active or until you request deletion, unless longer retention is necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
- Multiplayer and match data: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate ratings, rankings, player progression, matchmaking, and game-integrity systems. Aggregated or anonymized statistical information may be retained for longer.
- Poki ads/analytics data: collected and retained by Poki and its partners in accordance with their policies (see links above).
- Our own analytics: stored in aggregate or non-identifying form and not linked to individual users. Because of this, we may be unable to remove an individual player’s contribution, and the data is used only for statistical and improvement purposes.
- Country data: retained on our servers while your account is active, regardless of whether the public display feature is enabled. If you disable the feature, your country is no longer publicly displayed but may remain stored for account functionality, matchmaking, or quicker re-enablement.
Request for Data Deletion
To request the removal of your G-Switch account and associated personal data from our database, please send an email to [email protected].
Because the same profile system may be shared between G-Switch Online and other G-Switch games, deleting your account may also remove or affect profile information and progress used by those other games.
Some information may be retained where required by law or where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or the protection of legal rights. Information that has already been irreversibly aggregated or anonymized cannot be associated with an individual account and may be retained.
International Data Transfers
Some service providers used to operate the game may process or store information outside Portugal or outside the European Economic Area.
Where required by applicable law, international transfers are carried out using legally recognized safeguards, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other permitted transfer mechanisms.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
